Religion and Theology – Two Exciting Subject Areas
Even if you are not religious yourself and don’t go to church regularly, you are repeatedly confronted with differing faiths, especially today. But where is the difference between Theology and Religious Sciences?
The concept of Theology came from Greek and meant "teaching of God / the gods". Theology is a church discipline and thus is bound up with denominations. Thus, there is, for example, Catholic, Protestant, or Islamic Theology.
On the other hand, Religious Sciences are faith-neutral. Religions and movements are analysed and interpreted from an outside perspective. Both concepts are thus closely linked to each other.
You can find online courses from both areas in our directory.
