This online course explores infectious diseases and medical responses. It is a non-technical course for the general public.


The course includes:

  • An introduction to epidemics, pandemics and outbreaks
  • An analysis of infectious diseases and how they spread
  • A discussion of how globalization influences the spreading of and response to epidemics, including the role of the WHO (World Health Organization)
  • Potential local countermeasures, such as national government intervention (including quarantine measures and other regulation)
