Geoscience: the Earth and its Resources

This online course (MOOC) gives an introduction to Geoscience.

The course includes the following topics:

• Rock types, the structure of the Earth and plate tectonics
• Horizontal deformations, vertical movements and the formation of mountains and basins
  
• Climate and how siliciclastic sediments are produced and transported
  
• Deposition in the marine domain
  
• Petroleum geology
  
• Geology of water resources
  

The course explores the Earth interior and the processes forming mountains and sedimentary basins. Participants will eg. understand how the sediments are formed, transported, deposited and deformed.
