This online course (MOOC) gives an introduction to environmental science.

The course explores topics such as:

• What environmental science is and why energy is an important factor
• Human population and how it affects the environment
• Agriculture, food and soils
• Non-renewable energy (fossil fuels) such as coal, petroleum and natural gas; greenhouse gas emissions
• Renewable energy such as wind and solar energy
• Biodiversity and global change
  

The video course is designed to give anyone the skills necessary to address environmental issues by examining scientific principles and applying those principles to natural systems.
