This online course explores the private equity and venture capital business.
Students will gain a deep understanding of the mechanism underpinning the creation and/or development of a firm and the financial support it can get from the financial system through venture capital or private equity investment.
The course shows how PE and VC funds are structured (including the concepts of management fee and carried interest), how they operate, how they invest and divest/exit, and how they can be successful.
The course can be completed within a couple of days. Some prior basic understanding of general corporate finance concepts would be helpful to take the course.
