This online course (MOOC) teaches the basics of statistics.

It includes the following topics :

• Descriptive statistics, i.e. how to describe data: central tendency (mean, median), dispersion (standard deviation, variance), correlation and regression
• Basics of probability: calculating probabilities, probability distributions
• Inferential statistics, i.e. how to draw conclusions from data: confidence intervals, significance tests

The course takes about 8 weeks and approximately 3 hours/week. It is designed for beginners (for example, students of social sciences) and also includes the use of freely available statistical software.
